Recently received a new lightbox and wanted to take some test photos. I used my iPhone and struggled to keep the neck and cap, along with the label, in focus. Did not get the results I wanted, but the experimentation will continue!
Lucky to get a Palm Springs layover, beautiful evening, great walking, and outstanding food.
Tough day on the photo front, really busy at work, and not much time to shoot. Had to get creative and go for some abstract shots.
After the hot, dusty hike yesterday, the gym pool was the way to go today.
Friends don’t let friends shoot in the harsh noon sun. Lots of pictures today and nothing really to work with. Hard to recover overblown highlights and true colors. That harsh, high-in-the-sky sun just washes everything out. Yet, we try! When that’s what you got, you use it to the best of your ability.
Nice hike in the red dirt.
A Zenza Bronica Zenzanon MC 75mm f/2.8 Lens in mint condition arrived from Japan. The first piece in a new project begins.
Not super happy with this shot. The concept in my head was much better than the picture I got. I took about 12 shots trying to get the right angle and exposure.
I needed my main camera to shoot two exposures, one for above ground and one for below, and combine them. As you can see, the upper portion is over-exposed. There are limits with an iPhone and walking a dog!
Hope it’s a great day!
Go take some pictures!!
Echinocactus grusonii - Golden Barrel Cactus, sun-kissed by the morning’s first light.
On a walk today, I found this little guy guarding his turf. iPhone shot and processed.
I’ve decided to stick with my current format and just post all the days' extra shots under the Name “Stray Pixels”, since they’re strays or extras from the daily shot. I will also add the category stray-pixels to the post so they are easier to find.
I’ve struggled with how to handle the days' other photos, making a whole new blog, or making stray pixels a separate post, but this seems to be the cleanest, easiest answer. All the photos are automatically sent to Flickr as well.
Two legs to CUN. Not a bad place to spend 24 hours.
Long day getting to LAS, it’s cold and rainy here. Got my shot in the hotel lobby. ☺️
Finally back home.
More L.A. overnights and good photo walking.
LAX overnight. Walking among the palms.
Short walk around today. Found some nice transformer box art.
Nice late-afternoon walk after dinner; found these nice fountains.
It may sound weird, but sparkling water (water with gas) varies greatly in taste, hardness, softness, and level of carbonation, so when you find one that stands out, it’s almost exciting! LOL
First time with this one. It’s outstanding. Plus, it looks even better with Bokeh in the background ; )
Wanted to get away for a few days, so a proper road trip was in order. My wife is a huge dinosaur fan and has always wanted to see the La Brea Tar Pits Museum. Long day of driving, but made it in time to check in and head out for some great Thai food. Museums tomorrow.
