Dogs of Mastodon (108/365)
It was a day of firsts for both our furry friends as they bravely stepped onto stand-up paddleboards (SUPs). While River, the water-loving Golden, was his usual fearless self, Daisy, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, showed a courage we hadn’t seen before, considering her healthy aversion to water.
Both dogs surprised us with their adaptability. Daisy, in particular, showed remarkable resilience. She even outperformed River on the board, falling off just once but quickly getting back on. After that, she seemed to understand the risk and avoided any further mishaps.
Much more paddle boarding this Summer now!

I Will Call Him, Harold (101/365)
Found this guy on the morning walk. Made me smile, you just can’t help but see a face.
It’s been a journey starting this 365 project. 101 days in and I think I’ve found my rhythm.

The Peace of Wild Things
by Wendell BerryWhen despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

Well, missed a few days driving out for some much needed off-the-grid time camping in Southern Colorado.

Round dials, baby…. from the archives today. This was the last flight for this bird, flew it to the bone-yard to be parted out and chopped up. I always feel sad about this process. This aircraft has moved hundreds of thousands of people all over the country safely and mostly on time. It was an honor to have flown its last flight.
