When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.
Round dials, baby…. from the archives today. This was the last flight for this bird, flew it to the bone-yard to be parted out and chopped up. I always feel sad about this process. This aircraft has moved hundreds of thousands of people all over the country safely and mostly on time. It was an honor to have flown its last flight.
One from the archives today. A favorite shot from the drone. If you are not into video at all and have discounted drones please don’t. Drone photography will open up a whole new perspective.
One from the archives today. The only shot you would have gotten today was of a pile of used Kleenex ; ) The big trip out was to the doctor for the good news that it’s only a lower respiratory infection. Two antibiotics and cough syrup to go please!
I love this shot. You can just see the bond between them, complete trust. The dog knew what to do and what to expect. It wasn’t his first land yacht rodeo.
You can go here for the rest of the shots in this series.
