iPhone shot & processed

On the bright side, no insurance paperwork today. On the dark side, no new Zelda game for me.

Good swim at the pool. Made reservations for a SEA trip. Starting to plan a little photo trip. Don’t know where or when yet, but I gotta get out for an all-day or multi-day photo trip. I’m going crazy with all the iPhone shots. Cemented Thanksgiving plans.

On the gaming front, I read all the good Masto chatter about the new Zelda game, so I dig around in a box, find my Switch, plug it in to charge it, do an update (that tells you how much I play the thing), and search for and find the new Zelda game. No download or purchase button. I see the For the Switch 2 banner and say to myself, Which one do you have? Well, clearly not the 2, because the purchase button is grayed out. Hop online to see how much a Switch 2 is. Wow, $500 bucks. I don’t even play the one I have, so I guess no Zelda game for me. Super Sad.

On a brighter note, I finished Eric Jay Dolin’s The Wreck of the Mentor, and it’s an outstanding read. A deep dive into the wreck of the Mentor and what happened to its crew, with many side stories of the history of the Palau Islands, all the wrecks, and the English and American sailors who drifted upon its shores and either stayed for years until they were rescued or stayed until the end of their lives, having found a new way of life. One of the best maritime history and survival stories I have read in a long time. Highly recommend. My full review.
